OLIMAR and PIKMIN Join Cast of Next SUPER SMASH BROS.!

Not my first pick, in all honesty, but I’m sure their fans will be pleased. Captain Olimar and his cute plant-like Pikmin buddies have been confirmed for the next Super Smash Bros. game.

Not much details have been released at all, but like in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Olimar will be able to throw his various Pikmin at you, and depending on which Pikmin bonks you, your damage will fluctuate (the red Pikmin always seemed to cause me more damage than the others!).

For those who don’t know, Captain Olimar hails from the Pikmin video game series, which began way back in 2001. The latest game in the series, Pikmin 3, will be released for the Wii U on August 4.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will be released sometime in 2014 for aforementioned consoles (seriously, just look at the titles!) and will be published by Nintendo.

So far, the other confirmed characters are Mario, Bowser, and Donkey Kong from the Mario series, Link from The Legend of Zelda series, Fox McCloud from the Star Fox series, Kirby from the Kirby series, Pikachu from the Pokémon series, Samus Aran from the Metroid series, Pit from the Kid Icarus series, Villager from Animal Crossing, Mega Man from the game series of the same name, and Wii Fit Trainer, from Wii Fit.
