Nintendo and Namco are Teaming up for MARIO KART Arcade Game

Mario Kart is one of Nintendo’s stronger spin-off franchises. Each game sells…really good to say the least. There’s no doubt that we’ll be seeing a Wii U game soon, but first we’ll be seeing an arcade game called Mario Kart: Gran Prix DX. Interestingly, it will be done with the partnership of Nintendo and Namco Bandai, the latter which is also developing the next Super Smash Bros. This game will debut at the Japanese Expo in just two weeks.

It will have the usual Gran Prix single player mode, two player co-up, a single player thing called “Clone” Battle Mode,  and of course a four player competitive mode. It looks like it will take some cues from Mario Kart 7, such as the gliding. There will also be an interesting camera system that will show the racer’s faces in different ways. We’ll see this thing in two weeks over at Japan and then a Mario Kart U at this year’s E3.
