LUIGI Joins the Cast of Next SUPER SMASH BROS. Game!

Well, after all, it is the “Year of Luigi”, so all you fans should have seen this coming. This morning, Nintendo confirmed that Mario’s green brother, Luigi, would be playable in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Luigi marks the fourth playable character from the Mario franchise, and the 14th overall playable character. Judging from the screenshots on the website, his move-set seems to be the same so far.

I’m not a huge Luigi fan (I would have preferred an announcement for Baby Mario or Yoshi), but it makes complete sense that he would be in the game. Luigi has been appearing in the Smash Bros. series since game one, and at this point, Luigi is a staple of the series.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will be released in 2014 for, obviously, the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems.

Well, with Luigi returning, I think it is only a matter of time until we get some Peach confirmation.
