E3 is around the corner, so we’ll be getting lots of cool game news, but Nintendo has managed to squeeze in one more character before then. Its everyone’s favorite (?) swordsman from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Ike!
Ike, joining Marth, is the second Fire Emblem character in the game, and the fourth swordsman (fifth if we count Pit). In Brawl, Ike was renowned for his high attack power, which it seems he’ll keep here.
Many fans are joking that Ike has broken the “Fire Emblem curse”. For those who don’t know, the “curse” is a joke among fans. Usually, Marth is the only character from Fire Emblem who returns for each game, while Marth’s partner gets the boot. However, with Roy returning (albeit with a new design), it seems that whole joke is over. Who knows, maybe they’ll bring back Roy too…
Ike is the 30th confirmed character for the next Super Smash Bros, and more are expected to be announced at E3.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will be available this Summer for the 3DS, and this Winter for the Wii U.
So, are you happy to see Ike? Would you rather have had Roy, or a character from the new Fire Emblem Awakening game?
