WONDER WOMAN has a DIRECTOR!

Well it looks like the boss types over at Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment got their wish, they found a female director to ring in a third of their holy trinity and it’s a bit of a curveball.

That’s right the Amazonian princess and all around insane badass, Wonder Woman, got her director. And the lucky lady happens to have a rather interesting résumé. Meet Michelle MacLaren. She’s a TV director with credits on both Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. According to The Hollywood Reporter the deal is done and she’ll be developing the flick along with Charles Roven, Zack and Deborah Snyder producing.

Maybe it’s because I’m interested to see how Gal Gadot fills those warrior boots, or that like the rest of our community I’m eager to see a female superhero in her own film, but I am genuinely interested to see how this works out. And it’s Diana man! I want to see some Greek mythos sprinkled with that oh so some modern flavor as this collective universe grows and hopefully imports some of that Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang run.

I’ll admit that when it comes to TV the director can be rather limited in their power, but they also have the responsibility to maintain the quality of what’s been seen on a weekly basis for, possibly, several seasons. What that means to me is that this talent might be a prime candidate to nail the tone and consistency that’s been established in Man of Steel and is sure to continue in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

But what do you my fellow fanboys and fangirls think? Are you excited about the choice? Could they have done better? Will she succeed where others have failed?
