Walder Frey is Coming Back to GAME OF THRONES!

Despite only appearing in three episodes of the show, David Bradley’s Walder Frey has played a huge role in Game of Thrones and is probably one of the most recognizable – and hated – characters. Ever since the horrific Red Wedding in Season 3, fans have been clamouring for his return to the show so that he can receive some due justice for the murder of Robb, Catelyn and Talisa Stark. Fret not; according to Bradley he will definitely be back!

The actor spoke to Zap2It and confirmed that the Late Lord Frey will indeed be coming back to the show, although he didn’t reveal when. Heh.

“He will be coming back, but I can’t say when. I can’t really say because things are in a delicate situation.”

“I do look forward to it, because I do love playing someone so irredeemable. I’m afraid he makes me laugh because he’s so appalling that there’s a kind of dark humor in there somewhere.”

It speaks to Bradley’s acting ability that he can become completely synonymous with a show that he’s barely a recurring character on; each scene he stars in is instantly enjoyable and memorable, if not for the sheer hatred one feels towards him then for his captivating screen presence. A man who has appeared in fantasy like Harry Potter and cult classics such as Hot Fuzz, HBO is very lucky to have him.

He’s also played the Doctor – kinda.

Walder Frey hasn’t actually appeared in the books since the Red Wedding, but most fans had guessed that we’d see him again at some point. It could be he’s appearing in the sixth season (the Riverlands will be back – as will the Freys, apparently) or even later, now that we know Game of Thrones will be going eight seasons rather than seven. Personally, I’m hoping for the character to show next year – I want Summer, Shaggydog and Ghost to give him a piece of their mind!
