Violett Beane to Play Jesse Quick on Season 2 of THE FLASH

TVLine has recently revealed that upcoming actress Violett Beane has been cast to play Jesse Quick, another DC Comics speedster, in the upcoming season of CW’s The Flash. Her character is described as “a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad… Zoom.” Though fans are still pondering who will play Zoom, Beane will be appearing in multiple episodes throughout the season, giving audiences a chance to learn about one of the new speedsters appearing in Central City this fall.

For those interested in her comic book origins, Jesse Quick is the alter-ego of Jesse Chambers, the daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. Through training, she learned how to tap the Speed Force (the source of The Flash’s powers) by reciting a unique formula that her father discovered. In addition to speed, she also has her mother’s super strength, making her a force to be reckoned with.

In addition to taking over her father’s media company, Jesse eventually became a member of a newly formed Justice Society of America (as well as its business manager) as the new Liberty Belle alongside Jay Garrick and her husband Rick Tyler aka Hourman. She would also be called upon to help train Bart Allen aka Impulse/Kid Flash in the use of his powers and occasionally filled The Flash’s spot on the Justice League when the former was unavailable.

This news comes soon after the announcement of Demore Barnes being cast as Henry Hewitt aka Tomahawk  in an upcoming episode. Between The Flash, Jay Garrick, Wally West, and now Jesse Quick, could we see the Flash Family in live action before the season’s end?
