Transformers: Prime’s Third Season to Premiere this February

Transformers fans, good news. Season 3 of the popular and critically acclaimed Transformers: Prime TV series now has a premiere date, thanks to Zap2it. The first episode of season 3, which is titled “Lost and Found”, will air on The Hub February 15th, only a month away. As of now, however, no description has been provided. Season 3 of Transformers: Prime will be subtitled “Beast Hunters”, to tie-in with the new toy-line.

Transformers: Prime has been airing on The Hub since November 2010, and has currently aired over 50 episodes. Fully CGI, the animation is handled by Digitalscape Company Limited (Soulcalibur III, Ninja Gaiden). The show is written by Duane Capizzi (The Batman, Superman: Doomsday), and composed by Brian Tyler (Dragonball Evolution, Battle: Los Anegeles, Iron Man 3).

The show has already won a few Emmy’s, including “Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation”, and “Outstanding Special Class Animated Program”, and also won the “CINE Special Recognition for Series Television”. Transformers: Prime also had a video game released for the Wii, Wii U, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS this past October.

Season 2 ended on quite the cliffhanger, so I’m curious to see where season 3 goes from here. I’m also hoping for the show to get renewed for a fourth season, but if not, I suppose three seasons is more than most cartoons get nowadays…
