Toonami Returns?

Toonami. A more cherished concept does not exist. For those of you not familiar with this most glorious portmanteau (in which case, I must shake my head at you… or at least in your general direction) it was a block of shows on Cartoon Network entirely devoted to Dragon Ball Z, Gundam, and other great Japanese imports. But, like all good things, Toonami eventually came to an end, whimpering off to the great graves of tv lore in 2008. The CN has since replaced it with better rated fare… or at least that’s what their corporate stooges told me.

Well, after Cartoon Network’s recent April Fools prank (they aired an announced block of Toonami, which was the first since 08) , and a resurgence in fan support, T.O.M. and his cool little spaceship might be headed back to TV. Just check out this tweet by the folks at Adult Swim.

Just think about it… If you went through a phase of your life of gelling your hair into a Saiyan-like, spiky mess and blasting volley after volley of kamehameha waves in your school’s gym yard, then you probably owe a bit of thanks to the good folks at Toonami, which makes its return much welcome news.
