Remember the announcement that Seth Green and his Robot Chicken friends were set to make a comedy series set within the Star Wars Universe? Well we FINALLY have a preview of the show, Star Wars: Detours, and just like Robot Chicken it looks pretty freaking funny!
Revealed today at the “Super Secret Star Wars Panel with Todd, Seth, and Matt!” the show is [loosely] set in “the time between Episodes 3 and 4, so you’ll see characters you love in very different times in their life.” Despite Seth Green‘s reassurances that this show is canon and “The fans can deal with it.” we somehow doubt the show will be considered canon by fans. Still it’s always welcome to see a fresh take on things, and hopefully the show has longevity and isnt just a series of repetitive jokes…. I guess only time will tell, for now check out the preview below.
Star Wars Detours™ is an animated comedy that explores what daily life is like in a galaxy far, far away. There are no Empires striking back or attacking clones here. Instead, Star Wars Detours focuses on the universe’s regular folks and their everyday problems… which, to be fair, do frequently involve famous bounty hunters, crazed Ewoks, and even a Dark Lord of the Sith.
Welcome to Star Wars: Detours: the other side of the stars, between the wars.
UPDATE
3 new clips have also been released from the upcoming show, which seem to suggest that the show might be more story based rather than random skits like in Robot Chicken… Check em out below:
Okay the end of that 3rd clip is genuinely hilarious! What do you guys think of Detours?
