Howard the Duck, the absolute worst character in Marvel history, will be featured in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Let that sink in for a minute. Howard the Duck, the bane of Marvel Movies for 20 years, will cameo in the official Marvel Cinematic Universe. I don’t imagine he’ll be much more than a brief, passing figure; akin to ET’s cameo in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Still… the juice might not be worth the squeeze. The duck might make for a funny scene or two (especially if Rocket Raccoon humorously kills him on screen) but I would rather sit on a freshly christened toilet after Hulk’s burrito buffet fueled poops than watch Howard the Duck.
Here’s all we know from our source:
Otherwise, here’s what we’ve learned: Stan Lee will have his customary cameo, this time as the ‘Xandarian Ladies’ Man;’ browncoat favorite Nathan Fillion will be dolled up as ‘Monstrous Inmate;’ musician Rob Zombie lends his voice as the ‘Ravager Navigator Voice;’ and writer/director James Gunn himself will appear in the film as one of the ‘Maskless Sakaaran.’ Howard the Duck is somewhere to be found in the film. This inference comes from a line in the end titles that credits co-creators Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik. Also in the film, though not a cameo, is actor Fred the dog who assumes the role of Cosmo.
