Marvel’s Worst Character Is In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Howard the Duck, the absolute worst character in Marvel history, will be featured in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Let that sink in for a minute. Howard the Duck, the bane of Marvel Movies for 20 years, will cameo in the official Marvel Cinematic Universe. I don’t imagine he’ll be much more than a brief, passing figure; akin to ET’s cameo in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Still… the juice might not be worth the squeeze. The duck might make for a funny scene or two (especially if Rocket Raccoon humorously kills him on screen) but I would rather sit on a freshly christened toilet after Hulk’s burrito buffet fueled poops than watch Howard the Duck.

Here’s all we know from our source:

Otherwise, here’s what we’ve learned: Stan Lee will have his customary cameo, this time as the ‘Xandarian Ladies’ Man;’ browncoat favorite Nathan Fillion will be dolled up as ‘Monstrous Inmate;’ musician Rob Zombie lends his voice as the ‘Ravager Navigator Voice;’ and writer/director James Gunn himself will appear in the film as one of the ‘Maskless Sakaaran.’ Howard the Duck is somewhere to be found in the film. This inference comes from a line in the end titles that credits co-creators Steve Gerber and Val Mayerik. Also in the film, though not a cameo, is actor Fred the dog who assumes the role of Cosmo.

Heyo. I'm Nick Dourian, the Editor-In-Chief around these parts. Now, I went to a few other sites, read a few awesome bios, and I really want to fabricate a badass origins story for myself, but I'm feeling particularly unimaginative today, so 'f' that jazz. I read comics, drink bourbon, and cook meats. Imagine Ron Swanson, but with a fuller beard and cuter eyes.

Not sure if I’m buying this particular rumor. Sure, they’ve got Rocket Raccoon, which means sentient animal characters are a possibility, but it just doesn’t seem that likely.

Come on, the only reason for this hate is beacuse his movie was a piece of shit. But Howard is a really good character, hell, he can be a link between aliens and earth, besides Thor and the Guardians.

If you think that HTD is the worst character in the Marvel Universe, you not only don’t know what you are talking about and never read one of his books but you should not even think of yourself as a fanboy. HTD might have been one of the best written comics from the 1970’s. Steve Gerber was able to use Howard as a soapbox to voice his opinions on society back then and the work remains relevant to this day.

So who does everything think Fillion is playing, now with this “news”?

Marvel Studios needs to push forward a Howard the Duck reboot anyway

Howard the Duck is far from Marvel’s worst character. Have you even read the comics, or are you going solely by the movie? Because the movie was in no way faithful to the comics. That would be like saying Batman is DC’s worst hero, based solely on seeing Batman & Robin.

What’s wrong with Howard the Duck. Plenty of worse Marvel films.
