Every Single Leaked Photo From BATMAN VS SUPERMAN

Batman vs Superman is busy shooting across ye olde United States, and even though security on set of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel is phenomenally sound, a handful of mighty internet sleuths managed to snap some behind the scenes photos. Featuring Metropolis, a partially constructed Superman statue, Lex Luthor’s Lexcorp building, and a few other kinda familiar landmarks, this deluge of leaks is a welcome surprise.

If Metropolis’s denizens labor on a Superman statue, they surely must’ve appreciated that caped do-gooder’s efforts during the events of Man of Steel? I expect Henry Cavill’s superhero will be much alike Spider-Man in Sam Raimi’s 2004 sequel. He’s the star hero of Metropolis, praised by all of its inhabitants, but still doubted by a handful of detractors. In Spider-Man 2, the hero’s main critic was J. Jonah Jameson, and in Batman vs Superman, I expect Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne to execute the same role. You know, but with more kicking and punching.

I suppose there’s not much eye candy in these pictures, but they reveal a few encouraging notes on production. First, director Zack Snyder’s not entirely relying on CGI for mundane vehicles. Over indulging in computer generated effects is such an annoying aspect of modern film making, but with these few vehicles leaked, we’ll at least enjoy a handful of practical effects in the film. On the same note, that Superman statue could’ve easily been constructed through the same computer processes, but Snyder partially erected it on set. Every ounce of practical effects we receive in these tentpole films is a welcome addition to a blockbuster landscape over saturated in animation and graphics.
