Alright, let’s talk about how Captain America, the dude who got really old at the end of avengers Endgame, is going to reappear in the future of the MCU.

As most of you know, this past week the first trailer for Marvel Studios’s upcoming Black Widow movie was released. It seems like everyone on the web spent a ton of time analyzing the video to death, present company included, so not much remains to be discovered in that trailer.

BUT… this weekend was also the Comic Con Experience convention in Brazil. Marvel Studios took the stage there with a ton of awesome new information regarding the Eternals, Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness, and also Black Widow.

We’ll definitely cover the leaks and scoops regarding those other movies in future videos, so make sure you stay tuned to our channel for more regarding those.

BUT… when it comes to Black Widow, there was an interesting bit of compilation video shown, and in one of the scenes Red Guardian, the Soviet Union version of Captain America, references Captain America. Like a dude who hasn’t really moved on from his ex girlfriend, Red Guardian as Black Widow how Captain America is doing, if he ever talks about him, and Red Guardian basically was a big deal to Captain America….

This tiny aside adds a ton of information to the world that Kevin Feige and crew are building. And it also adds a ton of questions.

Namely… how does a Soviet Union themed villain find the time to build an antagonistic relationship with Captain America? Especially when Captain America was brought back to life in 2012’s Avengers flick. If the leaks about the Black Widow movie are true, then Red Guardian was probably retired by then. So when could the two have met?

Also, is the MCU basically not going to address the fact that the Cold War is over? I know that Russia still serves as a geo-political rival for the United States, but at least in popular culture, the symbolism of “red” Russian antagonists is kinda dead. Russian villains totally make sense in the modern age, especially considering all of the covert operations Russia has taken part in Europe, Britain, and the United States…. So perhaps Red Guardian is more relevant than ever.

Well, what do you think of Captain America and Red Guardian’s relationship? Do you hope that we’ll see and hear more about their conflicts in future movies? Would you like to know about their classic comic book tales? Let me know in the comments below. And as always. If you’d like to get your hands on one of those PS4’s, just like, subscribe, and hit that bell.
