David E. Kelley thinks his WONDER WOMAN Pilot wasn’t all bad, do you agree?

I’m not going to lie, I’m a fairly new fan of the property but when news was circulating regarding NBC‘s attempt to adapt Wonder Woman and story bits from its pilot got leaked online I was just as annoyed as any devoted comic reader.  It sounded flat out terrible and like many out there I was glad it didn’t get picked up.

Well it looks like now that some time has passed the man behind it has some thoughts to share about the project and the forthcoming future of the iconic heroine.

Here’s some of what David E. Kelly had to say on the property in general:

I still believe it’s viable for a television series. I think it’s ripe to do it. We made mistakes with ours. My only regret is we were never given a chance to correct them. We had a lot that was right about it and a great cast. In time, we could have fixed what we had done wrong, we just didn’t get that chance. All my series have been a work in progress to a certain extent where you figure them out by episodes three, four or five. This one actually gelled sooner than any that I have had in the past. We would have gotten there and I wish we were afforded a little more time. I do believe in the potential of the series and I wish them well with it. I think it could be a great success.

I appreciate the positivity in this interview regarding the spectacular Amazon warrior but what changes?  Not to sound overly pessimistic but what could have really been done to eventually save this concept?

He went on to say:

We produced it at warp speed and it’s a special effects show and it took more time than we were able to give it…I’m sad we didn’t get to do it but I do believe it can work for the CW. They’re smart to try it.

Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen, but what do you think?  Should this show have been given the chance to change or are you grateful to never have had to sit through it?  Are you eager to find out more about Amazon or do you want the next adaption of Diana Prince to be exclusively in theaters?  Sound off with your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
