BLIZZARD Fixes Biggest Mistake Of All Time, Closes DIABLO Auction House

Blizzard Entertainment of World of Warcraft and Starcraft fame rocked the world to its knees when they released their highly anticipated Diablo III in May of 2012, becoming the fastest selling PC game of all-time.

(The previous record was, of course, held by Blizzard Entertainment once again, as legions of video game fans simply cannot get enough of mindlessly dedicating their lives to Blizzard video games.)

It may surprise some that we are still talking about Diablo III which is just a testament to how awful the internet thinks it is – that is, until Blizzard Entertainment permanently closed down both the Real-Money and Gold Auction Houses today.

Blizzard realized that the Auction House system “undermines Diablo’s core game play” but as usual, the internet beat them to it the day Diablo III was released.

Already, we have started to see sweeping changes as this closure begins to impact the world.

Brad Markdinowitz, a self-described “average” Diablo player who sunk 300 hours into the game said, “I felt like a three-tonne weight was lifted off my shoulders this morning. I have no idea what it was, but I woke up to go to my job at the local newspaper and suddenly the hunch in my back was gone, I could walk straight just like everyone else.”

Markdinowitz is not the only one feeling like their lives have changed. Jabber Mohammed said that he “woke up today to find that the sun was up after almost two years of living in perpetual darkness.”

The Auction House however, has also been known to have been beneficial for some people. Ashley Smith says that the Auction House “put her through a year of college”.

When asked about the issue one of Ashley’s roommates responded “What the hell is Diablo?” before going back to playing Path of Exile on her laptop.

The expansion, Diablo III: Reaper of Soul is set to launch on March 25, 2014. The expansion will feature a new class, a new game mode, a continuation of the game’s story in the form of a new campaign act and most importantly will not include the Auction House.
