Tons of Earth-Shattering Action in New DRAGON BALL Z: BATTLE OF GODS Trailer!

In just four weeks in Japan, something big is about to happen. That something….is the theatrical opening of the latest Dragon Ball Z film, Battle of Gods. Needless to say, fans are ecstatic. Battle of Gods will be the first theatrical Dragon Ball film in over a decade (well, unless we count Evolution), and even better, the film is being labeled as canon, as the original author of the manga, Akira Toriyama (Dr. Slump) is heavily involved with the film, even designing many of the new characters.

To add to the hype, the film will take place during the “lost decade” between chapters 517 and 518 of the manga. Even better, the new villain is said to be even more powerful than Majin Buu, and the latest rumor is that Goku will be getting an all new Super Saiyan form, Super Saiyan God! Battle of Gods will also be the first ever Japanese film to screen in IMAX, as we previously reported!

The new trailer, which is pretty awesome, was released by Cinema Today. The new trailer features plenty of new scenes, lots of action, and…..Piccolo singing? Whoah. The trailer also features a remix of Cha-La Head-Cha-La, the iconic theme song of the Dragon Ball Z anime.

Battle of Gods is opening in Japan on March 30. Masahiro Hosoda is directing, and the script is being written by Yusuke Watanabe (Gantz, Future Diary). Toei Animation is animating, of course. I bet many fans are counting the days until the film is out!
