The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Will Be Shot in IMAX

Back in March, when The Hunger Games was released, despite not even being filmed in IMAX, it made a fair bit of cash from IMAX showings, and even earned itself a one-week IMAX re-run a month later, so this news won’t be a surprise to you (probably). When sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits cinemas on November 22, 2013, it’ll be released in IMAX again – but this time, it’ll be filmed in IMAX too. (Well, some of it will, no one’s ever filmed a full movie in IMAX.)

Lionsgate said this: ”We are thrilled to continue the productive partnership we enjoyed with Imax on the first installment of The Hunger Games,”It looks like they’re taking a leaf out of Christopher Nolan’s book and not doing 3D again…

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits cinemas on November 22, 2013. Prepare to be hungry all over again. And no, I don’t expect that to end up on a poster.
