The Hunger Games Breaks The $400 Million Mark

Ever since the release of the critically acclaimed adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ bestseller book The Hunger Games, the movie has been getting nothing short of praise and box office success. Deadline have reported today that the movie has passed $400m worldwide in it’s first 13 days of release and will likely remain #1 at the box office this Easter weekend, expected to potentially make $40m.

Other than The Hunger Games, the only real competition is Universal’s fourquel American Reunion, and the 3D re-release of Titanic to mark the 100th anniversary of the ship’s demise. The former has made $8M-$10M since Friday and is expected to make up to $25m this weekend, whilst the latter made $6.5M-$7.5M yesterday and could pick up a possible 5-day gross of $20m. What do you think of The Hunger Games‘ success? Have you seen the movie already, or do you plan on seeing it over Easter? If so, what were your thoughts on the movie? Sound off below.
