Rupert Wyatt Out Of DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES?

One of the best parts of the surprise-smash-hit of last year Rise of the Planet of the Apes was it’s up-and-coming director, Rupert Wyatt, who made a half hour battle between the army and apes look awesome. Hell, he got such a good performance out of Andy Serkis as Caeser that fans were pissed beyond belief that he didn’t get a ‘Best Supporting Actor’ nomination at the Oscars! Anyway, Deadline have revealed that Wyatt probably won’t be back for the sequel because he doesn’t feel like he can make the May 2014 release date for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, similar to Gary Ross’ decision not to direct The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Fox have declined to comment, but expect an official announcement and news on his replacement soon. What do you think of this news, and who do you think should replace Wyatt?
