We’ve been hearing a lot about the duelling Quicksilvers of both Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. While Singer’s already cast the role in the latter film, we’ve finally received confirmation regarding Whedon’s speedy do-gooder/do-badder.   TheWrap is confirming that Kick-Ass and Godzilla actor Aaron Johnson will indeed play the villain turned Avenger in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The story also seemingly confirms Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. Samuel L. Jackson had recently said in an interview his Old Boy co-star was set for the role. However, it hadn’t been officially announced yet. James Spader will play the title villain in the sequel and it’s unknown if there will be a connection with the two siblings.

Johnson is coming off a successful run in the Kick-Ass franchise. Which by all accounts has been embraced by the comic book community. His next fray into genre territory  will be in Legendary’s Godzilla remake from director Gareth Edwards (Monsters). That will also star Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston. There’s a a bit of hope that Whedon will try to give Quicksilver more screen time than his doppelganger in Days of Future Past, since the X-Men film is already at capacity with mutant cameos. A bit of doubt lingers of how much Evan Peters will actually be in that movie.
