Jude Law Offers A SHERLOCK HOLMES 3 Update

Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes

Given the fact that Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows nearly grossed $550m worldwide when it was released last Christmas, a third instalment is inevitable. Speaking with Collider at the Toronto Film Festival, Jude Law said that the franchise “still has a lot of legs,” and that he’s unaware of when filming will begin and hasn’t seen a script yet. It’s most likely that filming will begin in January/February for a Christmas 2013 release, like the last two movies. Read his comments below:

“No I don’t know [when filming begins] yet. I mean there’s certainly talk of it and I know there’s a script being played around with, but Downey’s a busy boy and I’m a busy boy so we’ll see. But we want to [do another one]. We’re a very happy team and we have a lot of fun and we also think there’s still a lot of legs in the duo.”

Despite me rather enjoying Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (and the epic theme), I simply can’t get excited for a third movie. Having recently conducted a Sherlock marathon from Series 1-2, I’m hotly anticipating the third series of that and I’ve already decided that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are the only true Holmes and Watson for me!
