Joseph Gordon-Levitt Talks Potential Sequel To THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

WARNING: Major spoilers for The Dark Knight Rises to follow. But if you haven’t seen Nolan’s last Batman flick yet, why the hell not? Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel show the other night promoting his new sci-fi flick Looper and obviously he was asked about The Dark Knight Rises – particularly it’s ending and whether he will reprise his role as the new Batman along down the line.

“I don’t get to decide those things”, the actor said. Kimmel then pressed him for more, so Levitt replied, “I don’t think it’s necessarily a setup. I think it is a great ending for that trilogy. If you go back to Batman Begins, he’s talking about how Batman is more than a man, a symbol. A hero can be anybody, and we all have heroes inside of us, and that’s the thing that runs through the entire trilogy”.

I think Levitt gave the best answer possible, and I don’t think a lot of people are tapping their foot angrily waiting for Warner Bros to announce a JGL-headed spin-off movie. It’s the best possible ending, and as he said, brings it all the way back to Batman Begins. Would you like to see a Dark Knight Rises-spin-off? Sound off below.
