NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!! Jackman Might Be Done With WOLVERINE

Say it ain’t so, Hugh!!! Only a few days ago, I was talking with my friend about the majesty of Bryan Singer’s first X-Men movie. In between bites of butternut squash bacon pizza (the mashed up squash is used like a sauce… and it might be the greatest thing on the planet), I eloquently and drunkenly explained the groundbreaking nature of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, the implications of Singer’s realistic vigilante film, and how it relates to the current rise of Marvel Studios. And it left me wondering… how amazing would it be if Jackman, the very guy who helped start the modern Superhero Movie craze, outlasted all of these newer, more successful projects. Hell, he’s already been around longer than Christian Bale, but what if he survived the rise and fall of Marvel Studios, which would include Robert Downey Jr. and the gang. It’d be kinda poetic… and awesome.

Well, according to Hugh Jackman’s most recent interview, that’ll probably never happen. The ol’ dog’s putting his claws back in the cupboard and he’s not sure if he’ll wear them again.

“It may be the last. By the way, it didn’t hit me until three weeks before the end [of shooting ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past], because we promoted ‘The Wolverine’ and I came back on set with three weeks to go, and that’s when I went, ‘Well, who knows? Maybe there’s no more Wolverine. Maybe this is it. Who knows? Maybe. So I really made the most of those last few weeks. I enjoyed every time I put the claws on. I nicked everything off the set, so Halloween, come to me and I’ll hook you up. I keep saying it’s like two movies in one, but with the size of it it’s really three in one. It really is going to blow people away because of the story.

Say it ain’t so, Hugh!!! I don’t want to sound like an over-obsessive fanboy, but I kinda need you in my life. Like flowers need the sun, Christmas needs Snow, and breadsticks need a garlic parmesan sauce…. I just need some Jackman Wolverine.

Again, not so sound over-obsessive or anything.
