Is X-FORCE Coming To THEATERS?

Deadpool may finally make his bloody return to the big screen, with a team of his murderous buddies. According to X-MenFilms.com, Fox Studios has registered the domain name X-ForceMovie.com! X-Force may be the next X-flick to hit theaters after Days of Future Past! I am geeking out! Not minor geeking out- I’m “Rob Liefeld-over-the-top” geeking out!

The X-Force are just like the X-Men, except with more mental illness awesomeness and no bald hippy leader. They are a team of militant mutant maniacs who are not afraid to kill in order to fight for mutant rights. As a black ops team, they fight for mutant rights on the down low.

Originally created by Rob Liefeld in the 90’s, X-Force has surged in popularity recently. Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force run was critically acclaimed and made him a comic super-star! Currently, there are two X-Force series released monthly. Fanboys and Fangirls cannot get enough!

It is interesting to think of which incarnation of the team  would make the jump to the silver screen- Cable’s crew, Wolverine’s underground fighters, or maybe even Doop and the X-Tatix!

Studios often register domain names in case they eventually want to make them into films. Fox registering the domain name does not ensure an X-Force movie will be released, but it shows that one may be in the planning stages.

It is a great idea for Fox to expand their X-titles. The X-Men franchise attracts an older demographic than the Spider-Man and Avengers movies. It would be splendid to have Marvel’s merry mutants get even darker and more mature.

X-Force attempts to answer the question “if you could go back in time and kill Hitler, would you?” If you knew someone was going to murder millions, would you kill them before it can happen? Most heroes have a no killing rule; luckily there is the X-Force!
