Did You See This CHRISTOPHER REEVE’s Cameo in MAN OF STEEL?

I’m ashamed to say I never noticed this cameo in theatres, but apparently Christopher Reeve, the classic Superman from the 70’s and 80’s, stole a few frames from new blood Henry Cavill in MAN OF STEEL. For only a brief second or two, as Superman finally mustered the strength to fly straight through the World Engine, Director Scott Snyder replaced Cavill’s face with Reeve.

You can see it for a brief moment at the beginning of this gif.

When I first watched this bit, I couldn’t tell the difference between Cavill and Reeve, but the thin lips are a dead giveaway. We’ve also nabbed it in a still image.

Since Reeve was such an iconic figure, a nod like this is almost expected from the new franchise. Although, I can’t lie… I’m pretty damn happy that it didn’t evolve into a more convoluted idea, like what we saw in Smallville.  There’s nothing worse than ruining a new series with excessive praise for the previous one (Superman Returns, I’m looking at you).
