Benedict Cumberbatch To Play The Villain Of BOND 24?

Take this rumour with a MASSIVE grain of salt, but The Daily Express are reporting that Benedict Cumberbatch is set to appear as the villain of the next James Bond movie after Skyfall next month. Even though this would be absolutely fantastic, Skyfall is still a month away (more than that for some), and it’s unlikely we’d hear about casting news this early. All we know about the next two Bond movies are that Daniel Craig will be back for both and writers are currently being looked at.

Cumberbatch shot to fame playing the title role in the absolutely incredible BBC TV series Sherlock, and is appearing as both Smaug the Dragon and the Necromancer in the Hobbit trilogy. While I would love to see Benedict Cumberbatch as a Bond villain (he could captivate an audience by reading aloud the phone book), these tabloids are as reliable as my ass and sadly it’s way too early for casting news when there isn’t even a director in place (Christopher Nolan anyone?).

Nevertheless, would you like to see Cumberbatch appear in Bond 24? Share your thoughts below.
