DEXTER “A Little Reflection” Review

Spoilers below.

After last weeks flop of an episode, Dexter seems to be getting back on track. This weeks episode was all about Zach Hamilton, the kid who was introduced last week that Dex suspected of killing Norma Rivera. Well half way through this weeks ep and Dexter has proof that Zach is the culprit. But there’s a problem. Of course there is, nobody in this show seems to have a good day anymore. The problem is that Zach is also a patient of Dex’s good friend, Dr. Vogel. Dexter needs to satisfy his urge by killing the twerp, or at least that’s what the viewer has to put together themselves since it’s not addressed for some reason.

But it’s not just one murder that Zach is going through with, he has the same urges as Dexter and he keeps showing up camera in-hand to loads of crime scenes, in awe of the blood and asking how a killer would be able to escape a crime scene. Vogel wants to teach Zach the code but Dexter doesn’t think it’ll work on him because he’s so driven at killing innocents. Dex has to run to the rescue of Zach’s next target, Sofia something (I forgot her name but she wasn’t important).

It turns out that Zach is going to kill his father for ruining his moms life. There’s been loads of close calls in Dexter’s history on TV, but this week was the closest yet. After knocking Zach unconscious, Quinn pulls up in his car and almost found out what Dex was up to. After narrowly escaping that, Dex has Zach prepared in a kill-room, of which we know nothing about, or how he even got him there.

But at last minute before killing him, Dexter agrees with Vogel and is going to make Zach his intern. Ok, I want a Dexter spin-off as much as the next guy, but hopefully this won’t be it. It’s just not right making a kid the next main character after two episodes. (There’s not a lot of hints at him being in the spin-off, I just don’t want him to be)

Later on Dex and Deb are sitting down, having a chat when disaster strikes. And by disaster, I mean Hannah McKay. Yep, she’s back, and it’s about time too since we’re halfway through the season. But as you would expect from Hannah, she returned by poisoning Dexter and Debra.
