Top 5 Stories We Can’t Wait To See In GAME OF THRONES SEASON 3

SPOILERS FOR SEASON 1 & 2 AHEAD: Unless you had a traumatic experience at a Ren Fair growing up, you have no excuse not to be watching Game of Thrones. It’s one of the best shows on TV currently and with season 3 due to land in March of next year, things are set to get even better.

There are a load of great characters in the show, each with their own engaging tale (unless their name begins with S and rhymes with cancer). Let’s face it though, some characters are just plain more interesting than others. Sorry Theon, get over it. ONCE AGAIN, SPOILERS AHEAD. Here is our list of the top 5 people we can’t wait to see in Season 3:

What an outstanding piece of casting, getting Peter Dinklage to play the sarcastic, most of the time drunk dwarf son of the most intimidating man in the Seven Kingdoms. In both season 1 and season 2 he stole the show and that streak should continue after the touching ending of season 2.

In season 3 he’ll have to deal with his increasingly annoying and violent nephew, Joffrey, as he tries to stop him from completely destroying Kings Landing during one of his tantrums, as well as work out who sent a man to chop half of his face off. On top of that, he’ll have to continue to hide his lover Shae, who’s scenes with Tyrion are really quite heart warming. He could be sat in a room counting pebbles for all we care and he would still find a way to keep us gripped so we’re ready to see whatever he has in store for himself this time around.

There’s no way we could make this list without including Dany. She’s the Mother of freakin’ Dragons! They were hidden away from us for a lot of season 2 but hopefully her favorite little pets will be making more of an appearance this season. As she works on building an army able to take back the Seven Kingdoms by force, she has a big task ahead of her. But then again she also has power of three pretty bad ass dragons, so that could work in her favor.

She definitely developed as a character throughout the last season so it will be good to see that development continue and see her become worthy of the title Queen.

Jon Snow

Jon Snow has had his ups and downs but season 3 is where he should get his chance to shine. After killing Qhorin Halfhand, he’s been taken by the wildlings to their King Beyond the Wall, Mance Rayder. This is our first good look at the world deep in the North. We saw the environment last time, but this season is all about wildlings.

There will be an eclectic bunch of characters to get to meet as he tries to ingratiate himself amongst them but most of all I’m looking to see how the relationship between him and Ygritte will develop. That fiery minx was one of the best parts about last season so more screen time between this pair gets a big thumbs up!

Arya Stark

Arya plays so well off other characters that it’s always fun to see her. Whether it was her flamboyant ‘dancing’ teacher in the first season or the much grumpier Tywin Lannister, she has great chemistry with those she’s around and that’s certain to continue into season 3.

With Jaqen H’ghar seemingly gone, we don’t know where Arya will strike out (unless you’ve read the books…) but just know that cool things are happening here. How did this one end up so cool with a sister like Sansa?!

Jaime Lannister

Jaime was a major player in season 1, but in season 2 he took a back seat as a captive. Scenes with him in were always tense and well done, but he wasn’t able to have much impact on events. Now he’s on the loose again, at least kind of. He’s to be escorted to Kings Landing by the Maid of Tarth, Brienne under orders by Catelyn Stark.

We’ve already seen the interesting relationship between the two and howit plays out should be a fun watch. Jaime is a great character so hopefully he’ll get more screen time in the upcoming 10 episodes.

Of course, there are plenty of other characters  I can’t wait to see. There’s Robb Stark and his newly wed, Sam Tarly and the army of Others and there’s Bran and his ever more lucid wolf dreams. We’re certainly not complaining about having to write a list of characters we can’t wait to spend more time with and having to debate who to leave off the list, the show is just that good!

Which characters are you aching to see more of? Are there any you wish you could push off a cliff? (Don’t worry, in Game of Thrones no one lasts that long so you might get lucky) Let us know in the comments below.
