The Witcher #1 Review

Does the new series “The Witcher” deliver the thrills and chills that it needs to or does it fall short? Read on to find.

“Traveling near the edge of the Black Forest, monster hunter Geralt meets a widowed fisherman whose dead and murderous wife resides in an eerie mansion known as the House of Glassïwhich seems to have endless rooms, nothing to fill them with, and horror around every corner.”

So there is this new series that deals with horror, which I love, however, I have to say that I can be kind of a skeptic when itWITCHER-1-PG-01-eb66e comes to this. I must say that “The Witcher” has its many ups and a couple of downs but, overall, is very good. This first issue is introducing our characters, where there are a couple but the main on is Geralt, who seems to be the main character and he is pretty cool. He is brash and upfront but also has a sort of compassion that works well for this comic book. I do wonder how long this series will be because of the way that it is set up. I, also, want to know if the characters, besides Geralt, are going to be in the comic further on or just this issue. I guess only time will tell.

The writing for this is fun and very interesting. Tobin knows how to develop the characters enough to intrigue you to read on. The one thing I will say is that there is a lot of potential for this series. I just don’t want it to take a Grimm Fairy Tales turn and turn into that kind of series.

The art is exciting and cool. I really enjoy the style. It is a nice pace setter. I can’t wait to see more of it.

Overall, this series has great potential if it gets the chance.
