Official Description

They say that when you fight monsters you sometimes become a monster. In the bloody conclusion of the vampire super soldier arc, Joe Ledger, Luther Swann, and Big Dog are trapped in a secret underground called The Abyss. If they fall, the world of man will drown in an ocean of blood.

This arc of V-Wars has been a great one because it has raised the stakes of what could happen in the world andOCT140524 how the vampires can evolve. I feel like humans have an alright grasp on the situation and are doing the best withthey can and actually working towards winning/ co-existing but with this issue, we had the stakes brought up and we see our characters dealing with this. It is very intense. Our characters are dealing with the monsters that are surrounding them but many loyalties are tested and the ideas that humanity may not be that different from the monsters they are fighting is brought into question. The ending is pretty great and very intense.

Jonathan Maberry continues to bring the world of V-Wars to life. The characters are believable and the issues make you think. There are a couple great moments in this issue that will affect the rest of the series. However, I do wish that this arc could be a longer arc. I think that it is totally worth exploring more.

The art is fantastically drawn by Marco Turini, who delivers on the blood and gore, while making it tasteful, which could be done very differently. It is a fantastic comic because the visuals are amazing.

V-Wars #8 is too short but really a great comic.
