Tommy Lee Edwards comes to chill in Winterworld! This grand comics auteur joins with Chuck Dixon to create a single issue story that tells us of Wynn’s life before she met Scully. This is the tale of one childhood that’s brutal and short. We learn how Wynn survived alone in the frozen world of the future at an age when most kids are entering pre-school. Find out how Wynn became one tough teenager in this special event issue!

Winterworld-00-pr-1-b996fWynn has always been a fantastic character that we haven’t really had a chance to see how she could survive to this point without much. The issue starts with Wynn and Scully talking about life and reading a book. Then, Wynn, gives us a look at the past by explaining that she world for people where she had very intense choice between working or being fed to dogs. It is very heart breaking and very sad. She loses some people and has a very tough life. It is really sad but very character driven.

Chuck Dixon does a fantastic job with giving us a look at Wynn and her past. She is a very strong character and we get a chance to really see that flourish. He doesn’t sugar coat it but drives where some her techniques and hopes come from. It is very well done.

Tommy Lee Edwards is wonderful as the artist of this issue. It has a very dark and exciting look to the comic that adds to the overall tone of what the writer is trying to do.

Winterworld #0 is a great look at Wynn and her past!
