The official description from Image:

Oddly Normal’s troubles continue as she embarks on her first day of school in the magical land of Fignation.

ODDLYNORMAL_03 (1)When the series started, I was pretty hard on the character because she wasn’t likable, and I stand by that but this issue gets a little better with us getting a look at the better side of Oddly. Despite, having her parents sent away and having to go to the imaginary world of Fignation, Oddly still has to attend school. We see the character kind of go through this new world, where everything is extravagant and completely different. She see all sorts of monster like characters who are very different than what she is use to seeing. We understand that the character is excited because she won’t be seen as the outcast. However, when everything is different and your the normal one, you will be the one that stands out. This is true in this issue. We, also, get a look to the insight of a character who I believe may be a villain and that’s Oddly’s new male teacher. I have  a feeling that he will come into play.

Otis Frampton is a very interesting writer. I have a feeling that I understand what he is trying to get across with this comic book but I just don’t think it works. The character is just so down and we need some more optimism or we need a scene that really shows how she got down because it isn’t enough just to be different. It doesn’t allow the character and audience grow together. The drawings in it are pretty great. It is very fantastical and works.

Oddly Normal #3 is okay, but still needs work.
