FiveGhosts14-Page2-bdadfThe return of Five Ghosts last month was certainly a highlight for this fanboy, with the series absence leaving a hole in my reading pile. Luckily however the wait was well worth it, with this new arc shaping up to be the best yet. This continues throughout this issue, with Fabian’s search for Sebastian taking him into a action packed series of events. Sebastian himself also finds himself battling demons, longing for his missing wife.

Frank Barbiere always seems to produce that little bit extra when it comes to Five Ghosts, as though all his other series remain amazing, they pale in comparison to this. Delving deeper into the horror genre, Barbiere gives a chillingly gripping script, with Fabian’s use of the Five Ghosts being as captivating as ever. The introduction of new characters, as well as the mysterious plague doctor also adds extra tension, with the events of this issue leaving me hungry for more.

Chris Mooneyham always delivers astounding artwork on Five Ghosts, as though his talent has also been seen in Dark Horse’s Predator: Fire and Stone, it is his work on this series that appeals to me the most. The flowing motion of his art, with the dramatic character framing really allows for a tense series of events, with his unique style working brilliantly alongside the horror theme. The colours also resonate awesomeness, with Lauren Affe‘s stunning colours being a great extension to Mooneyham’s art.

Five Ghost #14 is yet another astounding entry in this fantastic series, with the horror twist being even more gripping. The new elements also captivates, with the final twist leaving me excited for the next issue. Highly recommended.
