Pantha #6 Review

Following the immediate aftermath of the crossover with Vampirella, where does our bikini clad heroine go from here?  Should you even care?  Read on to find out.

The official description from Dynamite:

The war is over, and a new day is dawning for the world. Pantha and Pendragon just want to relax, but it’s not going to be easy; there’s a mystery afoot, and it centers around Pantha’s mystical amulet!

The big battle may be won but the looming question as to what the exact nature of the world will be following in its wake still looms overhead. In this latest release the creative team begins to delve into that aspect, as our triumphant heroes along with our ferocious vixen begin to chart their next logical paths forward in what could be a very chaotic future.

The script by Brandon Jerwa does a lot right as it nails a level of humor and consistent pacing that makes for a brisk but fun read.  There were some times where the dialogue on its own came off as a bit too corny or just lacked the charisma found in earlier pages but for the most part it did what it needed to do.  Beyond that I found myself instantly engaged by the narrative even if it felt a bit haphazardly constructed.  Overall from beginning to end this was a serviceable tale with each scene and every moment certainly suited to these characters.

Pow Podrix handles the art and the talent does a splendid job giving life to Pantha and her cohorts.  Whether the author called for a battle, a circus or just an average dialogue scene these simplistic but well crafted pencil strokes were reader to go.  Sadly there were some times where bodily forms looked a tad bit too misshapen but thankfully those were few and far between.

Great holiday shopping starts at TFAW.com!

Pantha #6 is an entertaining outing that sees a team grow as it evolves just a bit.  It does feel like it was thrown together rather quickly but that doesn’t matter because there’s not doubt in my mind that it will successfully entertain. Recommended.
