Monster and Madman #1 Review

What if the monster didn’t die, but lived on and traveled and met someone much more evil? That is something that you will have to see to believe. Read on to find out more!

Official Description:

Contrary to popular belief, the story of the Frankenstein Monster did not end at the end of Mary Shelley’s famous novel. Now, Steve Niles and Damien Worm have uncovered the shocking fact of the time the Monster met… Jack the Ripper. Read if you dare!

I always find that cross overs and the way that famous stories can download (5)intertwine is something that I find very special. It is something that allows people to be able to balance and express themselves with characters don’t normally own or came up with. This is why this min-series is awesome. If you haven’t figured it out, I am a huge fan of horror stories, books, and movies, so when I was asked to review this, I couldn’t have been happier. This is a great start to interesting concept. It deals with the fact that the Frankenstein Monster is not dead but meets the infamous Jack the Ripper. It is an interesting idea that works for this kind of story. It is very eerie the way that the Monster is portrayed and very heartbreaking. I have always thought of the Monster as a character that has issues and that just doesn’t fully understand because he was created. However, this series allows the Monster to have full thoughts and ideas and I can’t wait for the next issue.

The writing is complex and fun. It gives personification to character that I didn’t think was able to have humanistic qualities but, also, throwing him into a situation where he really meets pure evil. It is a nice touch.

The art is gritty and new. It is not your clean cut comic book and so the art reflects that. You have to see it.

Overall, this neat and eerie concept works great together for a comic.
