Marvel Responds to DC’s New 52

If you haven’t heard by now, DC Comics has rebooted their entire line of super-hero books. They’ve taken every series back to issue #1 in an attempt to redirect their sloppy, Crisis ridden universe. And so far…it’s worked.

I never thought I’d see the day when over half of my pull list would be filled with DC titles. Let’s be honest here, I’m a huge Marvel whorebag. Anything Marvel produces, I’ll end up buying.

Incredible Hulk Pez Dispenser…why thank you.

Mildly entertaining, mediocre Spider-Man video game…I suppose I can afford it. (I’m looking at you Spider-Man: Web of Shadows)

Silver Surfer face painting at Universal Studios…was there ever really an alternative?

But when it came to DC, I’ve usually preferred to avoid the fanfare. All that changed when DC’s September reboot bullied out Marvel as the industry’s top seller. So now everyone wants to know how Marvel will react? Are they going to reboot their heroes? Their ominous teasers for the new event comic Point Once certainly seems like it will try and follow in their competitor’s footsteps.

While at New York Comic Con, Marvel’s Joe Quesada and Axel Alonso discussed the rise of DC’s new 52 and what that means for their own House of Ideas.

Here’s what the pair had to say about Marvel Studios
