Halo: Escalation #13 Review

With a new story starting, the team has to deal with some issues of the past and a new threat emerges that may change the entire face of the Halo universe. Read on to find out more.

Requiem has been destroyed, but the real war between Commander Sarah Palmer’s Spartans and Jul ’Mdama’s New Covenant is just beginning . . . and everything hinges on control of one all-powerful artifact. Duffy Boudreau (BlackAcre, Bloodshot) and Sergio Ariño (Ms. Marvel) team up for an all-new chapter of the Halo saga and a great jumping-on point for new readers!

With the Requiem destroyed our hero’s are kind of still into that but there becomes a new threat 003-HALOES-13-583e9that decides to pop up out of no where, sorta. We have a New Covenant coming forth and they do not look like are the friendliest of groups and their motives seem misplaced and very scary if they can succeed. However, we have our Spartans. who are not going to let that happen and this issue is really setting up the chess board for our characters and villains to play their game. Also, there is a reveal that may change the game for the Halo world. My only real problem with this issue is that there wasn’t enough for me to get me to come back, which is too bad. I will return and maybe it will get my attention.

Duffy Boudreau knows how create a story but it wasn’t enough for this issue. I needed something big to happen to bring me back again to the newest arc. However, it still had some good parts that I did enjoy.

Juan Castro visually takes the comic to a great level. The colors and space within the comic are filled with bliss. It is really great comic art.

Halo: Escalation #13 has some good moments but fails to want me to read more.
