Damian Wayne RETURNS Sorta?

Damian Wayne was one of the most beloved sidekicks to the dark knight ever, and then Grant Morrison relentlessly killed him with no damn mercy! This gut punch hit many fans of the character very hard. The writer has also stated that at the end of his run he wanted to strip away everything in Bruce’s life but the cape and cowl. Thankfully the character is not coming back, which would cheapen the apparent death. However he is going to be the focal point of an Elseworlds like tale. This is a story that features an out of continuity take on Robin removed from the DC Universe. The series will be written and drawn by Andy Kubert, a veteran of the industry, who has yet to impress with his writing chops. Hopefully in the coming weeks Kubert will prove me wrong. The title is officially called Damian: Son Of Batman. Kubert had the following to say about the title,

“I had a big affinity for Damian when I drew Batman issue #666, I really liked that Batman and always wanted to revisit him. Damian is a bit different than the ‘Bruce Wayne’ Batman. Grant Morrison tweaked his character in a way that made it very endearing for me to draw. And to write. Basically, what I’m doing is exploring the path that Damian has taken to become Batman. I think readers will see him in a different light than before, There’s a combination of mediums that I’m using in conjunction with the color artist to enhance the story,”
