Concept art for a sequel to the 2007 PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword has surfaced online. There is no source provided and no confirmation but they have a similar feel to the artwork released for the original game.
Heavenly Sword was a hack and slash adventure that was praised for it’s great presentation and story as well as featuring a strong female protagonist (gasp!). A sequel would be great news but with the development team, Ninja Theory, working on the upcoming DmC revamp, it’s unlikely that they’ll go back to a PS3 exclusive afterwards.
However, co-founder of Ninja Theory, Tameem Antoniades has stated that the series was planned as a trilogy and the story for the sequel has already been written. The first game sold over a million copies so can be considered a success but it has been stated that the chance of it happening are minimal now the the team has focused on multiplatform development.
