New MASS EFFECT 3 DLC On The Way!

Say what you will about the ending, Mass Effect 3 was a blast to play and more of that story driven single player goodness is on it’s way. Bioware officially announced it’s “Leviathan” DLC, which has been rumored heavily in the last couple of months. Taking place before the final conflict, the dlc will cause an “additional rift” in your ending if you choose to play it. It is said to rival much acclaimed Mass Effect 2 DLC ‘Lair of the Shadow Broker’ in terms on length and scope. It will set you back $10 and is coming to PC, 360 and PS3 “this summer”. Here’s the announcement from the E3 Summer Showcase:

So we’ve got a mysterious force capable of killing reapers, new gameplay mechanics, new weapons, new characters, tougher challenge in combat and an all new aquatic Atlas. In a hands-on with the new content IGN said

“BioWare is conscious of fan demands to make combat more challenging, and Leviathan is unflinching. Cargo creates tight corners and small spaces aboard the boat, which makes it remarkably difficult to diffuse situations involving multiple Brutes aided by flanking Cannibals. The battle is tough, but Leviathan throws another curveball at you here. Because Shepard’s trying to open a door, you’ll need to carry power cells to a control point, charge the generator, and go back for another cell — all while the power percentage ticks down to zero. It’s a tense encounter with an unexpected new variable, and it pays off with access to a deep-sea diving mech.”

There we have it. Are you excited for more Mass Effect content or are you done with the story now Shepard’s arc is complete? I can’t wait for more of that universe, and am interested to see how it will factor in to the ending.Until then, I guess I’ll content myself with waves and waves of multiplayer.
