New DRAGON BALL Video Game Will Make You Go Tappity-Tap

In the early 2000s, the Dragon Ball franchise had plenty of quality fighting games and RPGs. Variety is a good thing. But in recent years, some of the games have felt like cheap cash-grabs, the kind of thing you would expect for a film-based game. But this next game could top it: Dragon Ball Tap Battle.

Dragon Ball Tap Battle, which can be played on the iPhone 4 and 5, and Android phones 2.3 and up, utilizes touchscreen technology. In the game, you can deal damage to opponents (or dodge attacks) by tapping the screen. The game is already out in Japan, but there is no release date yet.

The character roster isn’t even that impressive, IMO. We have Goku and Vegeta, obviously. Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo are also here. And on the villain side, we have Frieza and Perfect Cell. Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan can all use their Super Saiyan form, but strangely, SS2 and SS3 are all absent. Thats too bad. The game is being released by Namco Bandai Games.

After Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi and Dragon Ball Z For Kinect both received negative reception and low sales, fans were hoping for the next Budokai. I guess fans will just have to keep waiting.
