Free Roam Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Unveiled

It really is a good day to be a Metal Gear Solid fan… in fact we here at UTF propose that from now on the 30th of August is Metal Gear Day… I’m sure it’ll catch on…. As if the news of a Metal Gear Solid Movie (editors note: FFFFFFFFUCK YEEEEEAHHH!!!) wasn’t enough to get you electroplasming yourself, then maybe the news of an open world free roam sandbox Metal Gear Solid will! (editors note: FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKK YEEEEEAAAAHHHHH)

Also announced at Konami’s Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, is still covered in a shroud of secrecy as attendees were told not to write about the exclusive preview that they were treated to, however that didn’t stop a select few taking to Twitter to spill the beans.

@kazamatsuri said, “Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes demo was truly amazing, running on a PC at current-gen specs. Wow.”

@markmacd tweeted, “Demo of “Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes”, started w cutscene (all realtime), went into gameplay, open world, night, raining, base. AMAZING,” followed by “Snake crawled @ avoiding searchlights, killed guard, rode jeep, called in heli for evac. Sounds like MG, but the scale & atmosphere… Wow.”

@ItCameFromJapan chimed in with more details, saying, “Ground Zeroes on Fox Engine – rich detail, open world, and Old Snake is back!”

It looks like the Metal Gear many have been dreaming of with amazing graphics and the ability to traverse the landscape as you see fit. There’s currently no release date or further info, hell it may even be for the next generation of consoles, but we are extremely excited for this already, check out the first image reveal from Famitsu below.
