E3 2012: New Gears of War game set to be revealed!

Today some interesting and perhaps not unsuspected news surfaced thanks to Game Informer.  Microsoft is going to reveal a new Gears of War game at their E3 2012 press conference.

Game Informer tends to reveal the name and final cover art for their upcoming issue’s cover story the Thursday before it hits subscription holders, but this time they have elected to just reveal the existance on the forthcoming game.  They offered fans a cryptic cover, no title reveal, and a confirmation that it will be coming out for the Xbox 360.

Here’s what Game Informer had to say about their upcoming cover story:

We figure this news and a glimpse of the shrouded Gears of War cover are least some consolation, as the image raises some interesting questions: Who is in chains, and where?

They went on to encourage fans to try and decipher the clues about the next game in the Gears of War universe while promoting the fact that further details on the title will be coming Monday.

So what do you guys think?  Is it good timing for another Gears of War title or should Microsoft just be focusing on Halo 4?  The way I feel is that the game series has been consistantly engaging and I’m always eager to see what might come next.
