Debut Trailer for SONIC: LOST WORLD Video Game Teases New Enemies!

It has been awhile since the last real Sonic the Hedgehog platformer…since 2011, in fact! Sure, we’ve had some racing and sport games, but the majority of fans were waiting for the next big game. Well, the wait is over! A few weeks ago, Sega announced that they would be working with Nintendo to produce a new Sonic video game. Well, our first teaser trailer is out!

Sonic: Lost World, fans will be happy to note, seems like a pure Sonic platformer so far. Lots of running, homing attacks, and green fields that were just made for the blue guy. Also, Sonic now seems to have the ability to run up walls after gaining enough momentum. No sightings of Tails, Knuckles, or the rest of the supporting cast yet, but hey! This is just the teaser.

With a slightly more cautious tone, I also feel the need to mention the new villain group that will be introduced in this game, the “Deadly Six”. To be honest, they look pretty silly, and I’m not sure if some purists will take kindly to their introduction. The trailer shows no indication that Dr. Robotnik or his Badniks will even appear. I wouldn’t mind a break from Eggman myself, but these new villains seem a bit underwhelming so far… Well, at least the animals are returning.

Sonic: Lost World will be released for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS consoles sometime this year. No strict street date has been announced yet. Anyway, it has been awhile, but I’m sure this game will be worth the wait!
