THE CLOSEST WE’LL GET TO “BATTLEFRONT 3”

We’ve been waiting such a long, long time for the release of Star Wars: Battlefront 3, but there’s no due date in sight. Way back in 2009 we were treated to a brief, fleeting glimpse of the game’s beta stage under Free Radical‘s tenure, but sadly that studio fell in the recession. So now, nearly three years later, we’re still wondering…where the hell is Battlefront 3?

Well, if you’re tired of this continuous cycle of hope and disappointment, then I’ve got the right remedy. Behold…the Star Wars mod for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. That’s right, thanks to some delinquent programmers and their love of the Original Trilogy, we have access to a modern generation Star Wars shooter. Admittedly, the game doesn’t incorporate some of the finer aspects of past Battlefront renditions, but it’s a welcome place holder until George Lucas finally decides to treat us fanboys with some decency and respect.
