We’re back and running at the Unleash The Fanboy Podcast. This week we wade through the deluge of geek news, picking fights with the few dirty items we hate, and delivering sweet compliment laden praise for the few we love.

Items to look forward to: X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, HULK & IRON MAN, Marvel Studios, Joss Whedon’s all around awesomeness, and a ton of other stuff I don’t feel like listing.

So sit back, pour a nice glass of the amber stuff, and enjoy!

Oh… and prepare yourselves for some serious Avengers VS X-Men hatred.

Just warning ya’

Heyo. I'm Nick Dourian, the Editor-In-Chief around these parts. Now, I went to a few other sites, read a few awesome bios, and I really want to fabricate a badass origins story for myself, but I'm feeling particularly unimaginative today, so 'f' that jazz. I read comics, drink bourbon, and cook meats. Imagine Ron Swanson, but with a fuller beard and cuter eyes.

I really agree with a lot of what was said. 1.) First Class was a slap in the face to the stories in the comics. (IMO) The characters can be spot on but the stories were really off. I don’t even know why they invovled half the characters that they used and Mystique = really? lame bring back Rebecca Romijn where she kicks ass. Why does it have to be historical? The Avengers wasn’t. Niether was Thor or the Iron Mans. I love the movies don’t get me wrong but I hate how they can’t just follow which characters were used. I liked the cameos and the cg was fantastic. But I want the originals. I’m not hopeful for the next movie.I hope the rights go back to Marvel. And it wasn’t an actual origins. The LITERALLY used scenes from the first X-men movie. Literally. And yes ring in Omvega Red and Sinister and Apocalypse and Master Mold and the Marauders.
2.) I’m all for new readers. I don’t care about costume redesigns and I love bringing concepts from the movies into the comics. (Loved Lady Deathstrike. Even though she wasn’t a cyborg.) But you can’t just rush stuff then take a dump on everything that has come before. Not namimg any ames. Brett Ratner. And Mark Miller??? Give him a chance. maybe he won’t beat the horse to death again. Brett Ratner.
3.) AvX where to begin. THE SHITTIEST!!! It was interesting, exciting and fun. But I did bang my head against the wall at the end when I read the last issue. I spent over $80. And they shouldn’t have ended it with the death of the Phoenix. It was half-assed and idiotic. I mean did everyone forget Warsong and Endsong??? Does anyone remember Jean Grey??? I like event but after this one I’m not picking up Uncanny Avengers. I don’t mind the death of Xavier and Cyclops going dark side. I DO MIND: the dialogue, the lack of consistency in the phoenix history, and the lack of common sense in the story. Why is it that the X-men have to bow down to the Avengers and let them walk all over them. Why do the Avengers get to do what ever they want and then look like the good guys? (When everything that happened in the end was what the Cyclops and the X-men wanted in the beginning) AND I HOPE THAT THEY DIDN’T RUIN MY CHARACTERS TO PRESSURE FOX!!! = FURIOUS I loved the Phoenix Five if they had done something smart with it: like have Sinister steal the Phoenix from Hope or something else then that cold have been a great association Avengers & the X-men. Like a team-up!!! That would have beena smart association.
