Sarah Michelle Gellar Doesn’t Really Wanna Play BUFFY Anymore

With Veronica Mars receiving funding via Kickstarter… Pretty much every cult TV show, pretty much anything Joss Whedon had a hand in, is speculated to hopefully make the same move.

I loved everything Joss did from Buffy to Angel to Dr. Horrible’s sing along blog, but I’m a realist. Joss is entirely too busy with his new TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (in addition to his Marvel deal that keeps him busy till 2015), but that doesn’t keep fans from speculating every time one of the actors/ actresses of a beloved Whedon character says they would love to do a movie.  Just like Sarah Michelle Gellar did recently

“Joss [Whedon] and I always talk about [a movie]. But the thing with Buffy is that Buffy was a movie, and it ultimately didn’t work as a film. And I mean, we had such miles to overcome when we were trying to do a TV show based on a movie. And one of the reasons is that the story works better over time. If there was ever the right story, we would do it. At this point, the stake would be my walker and I would be hobbling in.”

I’m sure she’s being coy with the walker comment, but let’s be honest: everyone from the Buffy years are getting up there, and with Willow wrapping up How I Met Your Mother and other logistical nightmares, I don’t see this, or really any other Whedonesque continuation happening, especially with all involved. The only one I really see is Dr. Horrible and I am okay with that. Besides I’m fine with just watching reruns and his upcoming TV show S.H.I.E.LD. Which looks pretty damn good!
