Is a RUNAWAYS movie coming?

I will assume that most everyone knows about the awesome comic series called Runaways and if you haven’t then go check it out because it’s amazing. The story centers around six young people that have superpowers but they find out that their parents are super villains. They decided to run away and help defeat their parents. It’s a really a cool story and you should check it out. However, something really cool is that co-writer of, Iron Man 3, Drew Pearce, apparently, has already written a screenplay for a Runaway’s movie and Marvel has it. In a recent interview he talks about that script:

“We were really close to being made, and then this movie started to happen called The Avengers,” explained Pearce, whose screenplay for the project was his first work for Marvel. “Oddly, it pulled focus from the unheard-of brand Runaways, and it really did kind of consume the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s there, maybe it’ll be a Phase Three movie, I really hope so, I’m really proud of it and I think it’ll be a brilliant film, but I think it all depends what Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel, what his master plan is.”

This little piece of information makes me wonder two things. One, what other films do they have sitting on the shelf? And two, why not start working on this now? I mean they have a script, they don’t need to add it to the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe right away. They could start small and when people become more familiar with it, then bring it into the bigger picture. Personally, I hope that it will be part of Phase Three, but I have a feeling that it won’t be until Phase Four at the least, if it gets made at all. How cool would it be to see Nico Minoru use her bewitching powers on the big screen?
