PROMETHEUS 2, Now with NEW ALIENS

I know it was a flawed flick, but for my wallet I proudly saw Prometheus in theaters and bought it when it landed on blu-ray. The cast offered solid performances and the legendary director made something that honestly kept me on the edge of my seat, which believe me is high praise from this fanboy.

And now that the sequel is getting closer and closer to production, I’m excited. And in a recent interview Ridley Scott let slip a few interesting quotes:

… [we’re] getting away from gods and dragons and shit. If I see one more dragon I’m going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons.

The famed talent describes his original Alien as “the definitive dragon” which the above statement seems to represent a man who wants a divorce from his own beast. So I guess we won’t be seeing more from that oh so similar looking xenomorph that sprang forth from a certain Engineer.

…with Prometheus 2 what I’m trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act.

So there you have it my fellow fanboys and fangirls, the next movie will feature new extraterrestrial beings now with 100% originality. Sorry Ridley I’m not buying it. Call me a cynic but I don’t think this off-shoot franchise will move completly away from its original designs.

Don’t get me wrong I’m geared up for new content but why do we have to lose what was already established? Can’t we have our cake and eat it too? Maybe in the third film… nah just kidding, let’s get through two and see where this goes.
