Mind Controlled Hulk? An Infinity Gem Returns? AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Plot Leaks

Let’s get it out of the way right now. There will be potential SPOILERS for Avengers: Age of Ultron below. If you don’t want to hear the details about the opening scenes in the movie, DO NOT scroll down any further. Okay, the warning is out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff.

El Mayimbe over at Latino Review has been on a role lately with Marvel news scoops, from the departure of Drew Goddard on Daredevil to Josh Brolin voicing Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy. Now he’s taking it to the next level and revealing something even bigger: details of the first 15-20 minutes of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Despite his track record of late, keep in mind that these details have not been confirmed. While they may sound cool, take them with a grain of salt.

First off, the movie begins immediately after the Baron von Strucker post-credits scene from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The Avengers attack the Hydra cell that Strucker leads, but he’s got the technology to take them on, including Loki’s staff, Chitauri weaponry and even the corpse of a Leviathan! It must have been hell to transport that thing.

As we also learned a while back, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will fight Earth’s Mightiest Heroes at the beginning. One of Witch’s moves will be casting a hex on Hulk to make him think the Leviathan is still alive. That should be an interesting hallucination. Obviously the Avengers eventually win and capture all the bad guys and alien tech, which leads to the next scene: the party!

That’s right, after stopping evildoers, the heroes head back to Avengers Tower (formerly known as Stark Tower) to celebrate, where Rhodey will make a cameo. One activity is trying to pick up Thor’s hammer, and aside from Captain America being able to slightly budge it, no one is successful. Tony even tries to pick it up in the Iron Man armor and ends up breaking the arm off. Meanwhile, Thor is moping by the bar, and we learn that he’s no longer with Jane Foster and is now with Richard from Thor: The Dark World. Very anticlimactic given how they reunited at the end of Thor: TDW, but it’s probably for the best. Now Thor can focus his attentions on Lady Sif in Thor 3.

There’s one final bit of info: last week, Mark Ruffalo said that Bruce Banner would have a bigger role in the sequel. Part of his expanded presence will involve romantic tension with Black Widow. Apparently the two of them have a thing for each other, but Banner “is afraid to consummate anything with her for fear of hulking out and hurting her.” We saw him deal with this in The Incredible Hulk with Betty Ross, and this just goes to show that Banner can’t catch a break with the ladies. Ideally nothing permanent will happen between them. Although the two of them established a connection in The Avengers, if Hulk ever gets his solo series back, it’d be better if he reunited with Betty.

If they were a couple, this how all their arguments would end.

Remember, it hasn’t been confirmed yet that these will be the opening scenes, but they certainly sound fun. I do hope they elaborate more on certain things, like why Tony rebuilt his armor, what exactly happened between Thor and Jane and, most importantly, what’s Hawkeye doing through all this. Will there be a love triangle between him, Banner and Natasha, or is he cool with her wanting to get with a guy who turns into a giant green monster? If the two guys end up duking it out over her, I’m placing my money on the green monster.

By the way, Cap budging Mjolnir? Who else is guessing that he full-on wields it by the end of the movie against Ultron? Please let this happen!
